How to talk on Reddit without sounding like a pitch.

Twight drafts conversation starters — not cold sales scripts. These are the rules behind that. Message one exists to get message two.

Why this works

People on Reddit already talk about their problems in public. You’re not cold-emailing strangers — you’re showing up when the problem is live. The win is relevance, not volume.

What gets you banned (or ignored)

  • Sending the same or near-same message twice
  • Blasting dozens of DMs a day from a quiet account
  • No profile history before outreach
  • Links in the first message
  • Messaging people who didn’t post recently (they report you)
  • Identical “did you try it?” follow-ups to everyone

What actually converts

Forget templates. Use this framework for message one:

  1. Reference something specific they said A line from their post or comment — not “saw your post.”
  2. Show you understand their problem Their problem — not your solution yet.
  3. Ask one question No pitch. No “I help X do Y.” No scheduling ask. No link.
Example opener

saw your comment about burning a week on threads with nothing to show for it. what’s been the hardest part — finding the right posts, or figuring out what to say once you’re there?

That’s it. They reply → then you can talk about what you’re building.

Account setup most people skip

  • Account aged a few weeks (ideally 30+ days) before heavy outreach
  • 10–20 genuine comments in communities you care about
  • Real profile, some personality — not a blank sales shell
  • Engage with posts for a week before you start DMing
  • On Reddit, karma and history matter more than people admit

The math

Old way

200 trash DMs → 2 replies → 0 calls → banned

Better way

40 targeted openers → real replies → conversations → account still alive

Volume is a trap. Relevance is the game.

How Twight fits

  • Surfaces people in a thread who match your goal — so you don’t read every comment
  • Drafts first-touch openers in that conversation-first style
  • You edit until it sounds like you, then send manually
  • After they reply (DMs), Chat List helps you continue with full context

Twight is a kickstart. Your judgment on who to message — and how often — still matters.
